I’ll never tire of receiving a new book to pore over. I’ve been waiting for this one from @objectoriented.bsky.social to “drop” since I first heard about it. Penguin have exceed themselves. A beautiful hardback with grainy dust sleeve and embossed title author text. Truly an object (🥁) of beauty!

![The Interdisciplinary Witch Conference: Witches in Culture, History, and Society (YSJU).
Panel Proposal: Sounding Witchcraft: Sonority and the Occult.
Abstract:
The theme of this proposed panel is “sounding witchcraft”. All four speakers seek to engage with and explore the rich yet under theorised locus where sonority and the occult intersect. Pertinent and thought-provoking questions pertaining to (among others) feminism, ecology, trauma, inclusivity, and performance as political, echo between the quartet.
Dr D Ferrett’s presentation—taking the form of an audio essay rooted in Cornwall and the work of esoteric painter/occultist, Ithell Colquhoun—concerns ritual listening as an ecofeminist mode of embodied sonic practice for sensing and sounding with other-than-human agencies and temporalities.
Dr Phil Legard contributes a study of how music technology has enabled chaos
magicians to instrumentalise sound for magical intent. Excerpted from his ongoing research project (‘Listening to Occulture’), this talk examines connections between underground
cassette cultures in psychedelia, post-punk, post-industrial, neo-folk, and rave genres.
Dr Jasmine Shadrack’s presentation employs Interpretive Performance
Autoethnography, musicology and the music of her black metal band, Denigrata, to demonstrate the potentiality in wolf tones (“unwanted octaval pulsing resonances […] found on stringed instruments”) to sound the occult.
Dr Jamie Stephenson employs the death-industrial music of trans artist Uboa, to make audible the conceptual consonance between trans aesthetics and queer occultism, as symbolic acts of spiritual and artistic resistance against the marginalisation of nonbinary

This is some sweet airy ambient noise from @transkafka.bsky.social. The best way I can describe it by way of ‘Airport Ketamine (Pt. 2)’ which sounds like if ‘Phase 3: Agni Detonating over the Thar Desert…’ by Earth began to glitch and slowly evaporate into nothingness.
