We've been looking at historic human inner ear sections - this from the late 1920s.

The histology stain used is written on, in this case "Kulchitsky Weigert Pal". With no training in the area I've looked up what this is, & as a consequence who Kulchitsky was.

Strap in, it's quite a story. 🧪🔬

Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2025 awarded for discoveries that explain how the immune system attacks hostile infections, but not the body's own cells.

Researchers have developed a new vaccine to prevent a deadly virus that affects young elephants.

As a woman who wasn’t diagnosed until her late 30’s, I love seeing this kind of research.

If MDPI have a dodgy reputation, even only in part, they need to clean up their act across the board.

Review only for journals you submit work to, is one approach I've used. Do 2-3 reviews per 1 submitted manuscript.
