Way back in the stone ages (mid 2000s) I had this song set as the ring tone for my situationship who was from Texas. 😂

#goodmorning everyone!

Remember: spite is a great motivator. You must outlive your haters.
A vibrant autumn scene featuring a tree with bright orange and red leaves overhanging a calm pond. The tree’s branches extend across the image, with green and yellow foliage from other trees visible in the background. The ground is covered in lush green grass, and the sunlight casts soft shadows. A small waterway with dry reeds borders the pond, adding texture to the serene landscape.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Typing out long nihilistic threads and then deleting the whole thing.

What it really boils down to is my disappointment in us a species.

I will be adopting this for sure.

Nothing like losing power and internet in the middle of your work day. Not like I had shit to get done today or anything.

We're framing it that way because that's the way it is.

Autistic humans speak.

We say what we mean.

Clearly.

And still - people don’t hear us.

Not because we’re quiet.

But because they only listen for a tone that sounds like them.

So we get quieter.

Not out of shyness.

Out of exhaustion.

Out of apathy.

I hate it when people hear something I didn't say. There's no subtext. There's no hidden meaning. I meant what I said, exactly the way I said it.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Can we just STOP with these mega corp mergers?? It benefits no one except the 1%.

Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern, two of the nation's largest rail companies, are trying to merge. Unions and impacted industry groups oppose the deal. That hasn't stopped the rail behemoths from trying to astroturf the appearance of public support.

A guest post from Brett Heinz:
Railroad Barons Launch an Astroturf Campaign For Their Mega-Merger
Those supporting a new railroad monopoly include paid-off politicians, business partners, and… an anti-monopoly group?
