Jonathan was the architect of WorldWide Telescope project, which I was gifted to work on with him back 15 years ago. I'll also miss knowing he might sneak up on us at some meeting somewhere (he liked to appear unexpectedly). And he was one of those people with near boundless curiosity! Rest well. ♥️

Damn it, Jonathan Fay, I am gonna miss knowing you are in the world.

Would be willing to add an issue to our AASTeX7 GitHub repo? To document the incompatible package? Don’t have to be super precise or complete, but a minut minimum working example would be awesome

Are you certain you are using the most up2date bst file? We had a problem where a broken alpha bst was initially released with v7.0 and have updated it since. I do not see this problem in any of the ms I'm working with.

Hmm, maybe "a scourge as fearful as floods" is a chatbot take on Shakespeare's "a pox upon both your houses"?

Yeah a decision was made when we switched from Chicago to iop to not retroactively reformat the articles to match the iop style, but to keep the Chicago HTML static. Not pretty. There might be a solution in the works.

I can't believe I'm being a crankmeister over a PR, but I logged into Zenodo at 8pm EDT to publish the data for these ApJL results in coordination with the preprint releases. And they are ApJL results. And thank you, authors, for entrusting us with these publications. #crankyApJEditor

Um, what is this social media image shown in your bsky post? Because that's not Robert Hurt's original image; it's been manipulated. And this is not a Nature published result. Seems super disingenuous to use that image that way. #crankyApJEditor @fredrasio.bsky.social @ethan-vishniac.bsky.social
