Speaking ill of the dead is rude, and usually pointless. It causes pain to their families and arrives too late for them to improve their behavior. However, when people insist on deifying someone who, when alive, was a terrible person, I’m willing to make an exception.

The Tiffany Aching books are technically YA but I think they’re definitely worth reading even if you were a YA during the Johnson administration. Also you get fresh insights into the ways elves suck and are nonetheless redeemable.
