Your face is good. I am a Soos.
At no point, literally at all, ever, whatsoever, have Republicans proposed eliminating legislative gerrymandering. They could pass that tomorrow with near-unanimous Democrat support. Instead they are flogging legislation to make it harder for 40 million people to even vote at all.

It’s an easy line but it’s also true: the whole monocle popping “those dastardly democrats!” stuff isn’t as effective when everyone actually wants Republicans to suffer.

Cruz legitimately believes it’s okay for Republicans to gerrymander and unfair for Democrats to do it. He believes this because one makes liberals mad and the other doesn’t. This is the only actual political policy that matters anymore because everyone is twelve

If it’s more than a 24% bias in apportionment it’s an affront to democracy. Otherwise it’s just a sparkling representative republic.

And YES, in this particular case it's ultimately moot because the SAVE Act so hilariously violates the 4th, 10th, 19th, and 24th Amendments that even Alito will use it as toilet paper but if anything that makes it a safe case for Democrats to use as a learning opportunity.

Politics is not an episode of Frasier. You are not going to out-clever voters who see a map of popular vote totals by county and declare 90% of the country is Republican. You have conceded "Democrats don't want voter ID" to them. Drown the Lisa Simpsons running your party in a bucket or lose forever

Why on god's every-hole-fucking earth are Democrats SO FUCKING BAD AT THIS. Just say "Republicans want to make you have to pay $165 to vote!" Let them whine back at you about it! Don't shut up when the media says "but that's not true!" Who gives a shit? Say it! MAKE PEOPLE MADE AT REPUBLICANS
February 5, 2026 at 10:57 PM
Or, again, just ACTUALLY SAY WHAT THE BILL DOES, WHICH IS COMPLETELY INSANE. Married people who changed their name can't use their birth certificates! Most people don't have a passport, and it costs $165 to get one!

I am really, REALLY sorry guys but Democrats have absolutely LOST the "why not just show ID?" argument from a lack of ANY attempt to craft a good answer to it. Embrace it. Support a national ID and ask why Republicans don't! Demand that getting a legal voter ID be 100% FREE and government funded!
February 5, 2026 at 10:53 PM
Democrats are getting ANNIHILATED on this because "it's Jim Crow!" looks fucking STUPID when most voters think you're saying "it's racist to make black people show ID." That's NOT WHY THE BILL IS BAD, FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

IN 45 STATES A DRIVER'S LICENSE IS NOT LEGAL PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP. UNDER THE SAVE ACT, YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT AS VOTER ID. THIS IS ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY. YOU DON'T NEED TO USE DRAMATIC LANGUAGE. JUST POINT OUT, FACTUALLY, THIS INCREDIBLY INSANE THING THE BILL WILL DO.

And there are, as we speak, more than a dozen types of food animals-fish, game, poultry—at risk of a mass extinction event if one of any resurgent parasites or hyperaggressive predators re-enters our ecosystems from an rapid decline in safeguards.

We’re probably less than a decade away from not being able to buy almonds anymore. The water and production costs are rapidly approaching infeasible. And that’s only a preview of what it’s going to cost to feed livestock.

AI has annihilated the computer chip market—video game systems, phones, mobile devices, smart appliances—these industries are all fucked because production is shifting exclusively to data centers.
