Have jumped here to @bsky.app as X has become an unmoderated poisonous toxic hellhole of anonymous fruitloop nazis and nutjob conspiracy theorists free to spout their irrational bollocks enabled by deranged manbaby Musk. RIP Twitter.
Not good news for #historians, #writers and #journalists apparently... even worse news for the public/readers because #AI can only scalp off online already published sources - good #History is from unpublished sources. Nor can AI interpret.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Thoroughly recommend new Sir Steve McQueen film #Blitz. Probably the most historically accurate and detailed depiction of the Blitz I've seen. A lot of work has clearly gone into it. The lead, 10-year-old Elliott Heffernan greatly deserves a film award for a clearly testing role. #WW2 #History
