I don't know specifically, but I'd have to guess year. Both the Marvel and DC issues came out in 1971. That was also about the time period when the average age of comic book readers rose from elementary & middle school to high school and college.

I discovered the Sandman Mystery Theatre graphic novels at my public library years ago. They're great.
