She/her. PhD in Egyptology, now I write fiction. The Night Library of Sternendach is my novella in sonnets. The Glass Garden is space horror and family drama. Will boost almost anything with a bat in it. linktr.ee/authorlevai

Hello to BlueSky and my new followers! Please check out my novellas:

THE NIGHT LIBRARY OF STERNENDACH is a bittersweet vampire opera in sonnets.

THE GLASS GARDEN is space horror.

Covers designed by @kglyder.bsky.social.

My two book covers, against a starry background.

STERNENDACH has red bat wings, a book, and fangs.
THE GLASS GARDEN has a kaleidoscope image on it.

The guy playing Jura is pretty hot, that doesn't hurt.

My kid has practice tonight rather than Thursday so my brain thinks tomorrow is Friday and yeah, this is gonna be a pain.

How does one ork a cow?

Seriously, that looks like a nice place to work.

Today’s chemo socks and today’s chemo book. So I was both comfy and well entertained. Shout out to @authorlevai.bsky.social for making the time pass more quickly with this tale

Watching this movie on Tubi. It doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. Feel like I've discovered treasure. Really enjoying it, but this kind of fairy bride/false bride story is catnip to me.

The Golden Fern (1963)
A breathtaking black and white fantasy film about a stunning young forest fairy who falls in love with a handsome but selfish shepherd.

When I was pregnant with my second child, I had a "pregnant skeleton" shirt that showed (my) adult ribs and a baby skeleton. Loved that shirt.

I'm not buying anything from Amazon during Prime days or whatever. I try not to buy there at all, if I can.

Except.

I am going to drop $50 on indie books soon, so I can post reviews on their site. I feel that Amazon is still a place where people go for reviews, and I don't want a GR account.

Seems appropriate to be reading this after I spent some time with Lin-Manuel Miranda's concept album for THE WARRIORS

It’s Banned Books Week, and I don’t need you to buy my book as a solve for it (but buy it if you want to! That’s still extremely cool of you)—I need you to show up for your public libraries and your schools!

I did that with my cat, twice. She hated it so much!

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

I'm so sorry. I wish you and your loved ones courage.

I just can't handle watching kids get tested, or problem kids. It's a deal-breaker for me.

I read the book in an afternoon (clearly I forgot some stuff) and was looking forward to the movie, but I didn't last 15 minutes.

Hell, I've unsubscribed from newsletters for less. I'm not offended. Little wistful, maybe?

Anyway, back to writing.

There's an outfit that just started up called "LevAI" so of course I have to hear about it any time I google my name.

My marketing ideas all begin and end with this scene from #TheOwlHouse, where the cardboard standee of King just says over and over, "Spend money on my thing I wrote!"
Scene from The Owl House. King, a diminutive and very cute demon, observes the shelves holding copies of his book. A carboard standee of the character has a dialogue bubble that say "GIVE ME MONEY!"
