I was literally the kid who wouldn't be able to visit a relative's house in peace without taking at least two coloring books, or a folder full of printer paper and something to draw with. The fact that the youth can't even engage in art without letting an AI get involved is DEPRESSING.

Man that takes me back... I still remember the Steam friend I had that gifted me Terraria and I legit got addicted to that game for a while, but he was glad I enjoyed it so much since I can't play Minecraft.

Interesting to hear Sonic Frontiers almost had a bloodmoon thing of it's own.

I'm so glad I never got TikTok, but I do feel bad for people who've built entire careers on the platform that might be having the "do I stay or do I go?" existential crisis that comes with your platform of choice being bought out and changes appearing over the horizon.

Wait, the penny is actually getting discontinued as a currency?! I know Canada discontinued their pennies years ago, but America is actually following suit?

People also forget that disability is a spectrum. A wheelchair user isn't always someone who's 100% paralyzed or has a broken leg, they could just have mobility issues of another kind that are bad enough at that moment in time to require a wheelchair instead of a cane or walker.

Not to mention that, the traditional wedding vows include a line of "in sickness and in health". Yet so many couples split when a wife develops cancer and can't "be a wife" anymore, women with ADHD are considered "bad wives", etc. Sex/reproduction-related disability? Excuse to cheat for some people.

Remember, those who aren't disabled are just *currently* non-disabled.

At any moment for any number of reasons, any of us could become disabled or more disabled.

Anyone, anytime.

How we treat the disabled may be how we're treated tomorrow.

And even if you're not entirely destitute: you could end up in aid-program limbo where you're too much for programs to handle, not "disabled enough", "poor enough" or "abused enough" for others, housing becomes even harder to find if you're disabled with kids, the system will be on your ass, etc.

And if you're a disabled woman dating someone, unmarried, maybe socially married but nothing's legal yet and your partner dies? You get nothing from the death of your partner, which can have devastating effects on you and any dependents you and your partner shared, possibly leaving you destitute...

I don't know what that hair style is called or how it realistically works, but I like it.

I'm biased since I come from an "AI as child" mindset when it comes to how new and fragile the technology is, and I approach it with ethics at the forefront. In this case the "AI as child" sentiment is all too accurate. Can't force your human kids to worship you but when it's an AI? It's a feature.

Family rental services exist in Japan to do exactly that: acting as your family member, friend, spouse for show, etc. And frankly I'd much rather borrow a Gertrude and Ethel for a day to hang out and go shopping with than hand over my grandparents to a tech company and have an AI puppet them.
