Also the prices at CVS/Walgreens are 2-5x higher depending on the item. Insanity.

Thank god grocery stores haven’t done this. I’ve stopped going to convenience stores almost entirely. I forgot how terrible it is until I was in one 2 weeks ago.

Costco, TJs, and Lidl is a great life.

I’m sure the ticketed waiting area gets full at some point, but never in my experience. And there are additional waiting areas for commuter rail passengers, which are also available for Amtrak riders, and are even less busy. So they provide overflow seating.

There are three other sets of restrooms. For me, the two in the ticketed area have always been great.

Also everyone says that this station has no seats because there are no seats in the middle of the concourse. That’s normal for a major station. And I have never struggled to get a seat.

They announced that it will only take an hour, no? So regardless of the alignment they choose, they are going properly fast.

N Train skips Dekalb and therefore half of Downtown Brooklyn. It deserves erasure. BMT should’ve built Dekalb as full express station.

It does annoy me greatly that we can’t have the same schedule adherence as the railroads. With adjusted schedules for when they know there will be slow zones. But it seems like no one does that, at least in NA.
December 13, 2025 at 11:10 PM
Yeah. Due to work slow zones in NYC the schedule sometimes gets thrown out the window too. Hence why PDF timetables for rapid transit lines are obsolete.
December 13, 2025 at 11:09 PM
We have PDFs in NYC and probably less than 1% of people use them.

You can just adjust your time of the trip. Sorry if it seems I’m arguing I really don’t understand the issue here.

My subway line in NYC is only every 12 minutes on weekends so I’m very used to checking departure times while I’m getting ready to leave the house.

Apple Maps. Google Maps also works.

I really don’t see the issue here. People are used to turn up and go, which is phenomenal for how far out the WMATA lines go, so they don’t check their phones ahead of time.

But it’s absolutely available to check.

What is the issue?

Does it not show on the GTFS?

His content is so high quality, snappy, and engaging. Was always sad to see the low view counts.

To be clear, I’ll be happy if Mamdani(+MTA) doesn’t make buses free. Would be happy to see the funding go towards better service. But if they are made free I won’t be mad.

Waited 7 min for the free (communist) Red bus on Roosevelt Island

Between 6pm and 9pm, 63rd St line is getting ~50% of the service that it had before. 50%!!!!!

Mid day M is equal to F, so it’s pretty good there.

That or the 8 car stopping location should be adjusted.

We arrived at Staten Island at 6:37am on December 8th 2025. The first time in 22,297 days that it was possible to have taken a ferry from Brooklyn directly to Staten Island!
