Astonishing advance by the Greens, astonishing implosion of Labour. When will Starmer's government get the message that it is destroying its base with deeply unpopular, rightwing policies?

By chasing Reform, it legitimises the far right while delegitimising itself.

Latest poll puts Greens just two points behind Labour. When I said we weren't here to be disappointed in Labour but to replace them, I meant it.

The media everywhere is vulnerable to big money - billionaires or malign state actors. Free speech, like free markets, is rarely achieved with a free for all.

This is not what democracy looks like. Anyone who cares at all about the Constitution has to take a stand against this and against MAGA.

With five parties on double digits, the first-past-the-post voting system makes a complete mockery of any semblance of a fair elections.

It’s way past-time to make seats match votes and GET PR DONE

Another day.

Another presidential threat to jail two of his political opponents.

What will it take for Republicans in Congress to speak out?

While we still have a democracy left.

The loveliest thing to hear some of these poems out in the wild last week, a storm raging up outside.

“The advantages of a first past the post system, of course, are that it prevents an overly fragmented parliament in which a stable governing majority cannot be found, and that it keeps the radical right down.”

What an admirably clear statement from the Jewish Leadership Council, especially when all of those involved must surely have been dealing with so many other urgent challenges in safety, security and grief + shock today before having this further divisive and distracting intervention to address too.

We are still a rich country capable of affording decent, humane palliative care for all.

Do you really care so little for dying people that you are happy to see them failed them on your watch?

Thank you @channel4news.bsky.social for covering this story.

I believe that the measure of a civilised country is how well it cares for its most vulnerable members. The difference between politicians and me is that I look the palliative care patients they are failing in the eye.

So I will put it to you directly, @wesstreeting.bsky.social:
