Gov. Gavin Newsom has publicly opposed the proposed “billionaire tax.” Roughly 200 to 255 of California’s wealthiest residents would be directly affected by this tax. That initiative could raise roughly $100 billion for state programs, mostly for healthcare. So not the leader that we had hoped for.
