from what little I’ve researched before it’s basically a big fusion of a lot of different step-type dances, usually from Europe. It’s always reminded me a lot of Irish step, but less energetic depending on the dance level

this comes from someone who is from the south and had to line dance for elementary school gym class lol

It’s legit what it sounds like: everyone is in a line dancing a choreographed dance, usually some type of shuffle that’s pretty easy to follow. There are some more intense line dances with like flips and spins, but those are for competitions not bar dancing, which is more what I described above
