He also drew the fire of the second shooter, which meant the other victims had a moment of reprieve to (hopefully) find cover or run away. I can't recommend anyone potentially sacrifice themself like this man but I am in awe of his courage

Political sovereignty is at odds with consensus justice. But divine sovereignty is inherently righteous and just because that is the nature of God. Divine sovereignty, one could argue, is the origin of justice; it is through God's grace and redemption that humanity understands justice.

Yes, about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, which....a lot of people are persecuted in Nigeria but if my understanding is correct Christians are not being targeted more than other groups. But to be real, my knowledge about this situation is pretty shallow

It's really clear who in these replies have been following Nicki's crash outs and unstable behavior for the past year or two and those who haven't heard about her since, like, Queen. This isn't a pivot.

Yeah, if you want to know what is going on with Nicki you need to go back several months. She's been in an assumed mental health crisis/drug induced psychosis for a while. There are rumors that her husband may be enabling this behavior in order to maintain a level of control in the relationship.

I still have lots of good ideas; accessible public transportation, high speed rail across the US, regulating interchangeable parts for electronics. But what my good ideas don't do is make money for petroleum companies.

To me, the issue isn't that he was fired for what is increasingly looking like assault. The problem is that if he was winning, they would have buried the assault allegations and (to a lesser extent) calling alleged assault an "inappropriate relationship" and not "illegal actions."

I feel this is an interesting question as I grieve being able to talk to my grandmother as she is living with late stage dementia. And part of that grief has been acknowledging that she is still here, but her personality isn't. It's been important to recognize her humanity and love her as she is.

She's been a conservative for years. I remember learning of her low key homophobia over a decade ago. Which I always thought was not just immoral but a crazy business decision

in a much much MUCH smaller way, this was the joy of working in a rental store. We'd get one or two copies of unknown indie movies, and it was so fun to get to know customers and be like, "This small movie about dancers in the midst of the AIDS crisis is really good and I think you'd like it!"

you could! I was saying that if you lived in Phoenix you didn't have to hunt down a phonebook from Butte, Montana when you wanted to call someone who was listed there. You could call information in Butte and aske for a business or person and get their number.
