Nobody wants to believe progress that happened before one was born could still be "up for discussion", as something that could potentially roll back. But it is. All of it, all the time, and this is a scary thing to learn. This happens to every generation, or at least certainly happened to my Gen X.

This, and it’s been ongoing, and is the cause of why for example X even exists as we know it. If text wasn’t already well into decline by 2022, Twitter would still be.
A lot of people just don’t want to have to read. For a window circa 1995-2015 they sorta had to, to be “online”. Now they don’t.

Just a guess. Opposition to ICE and immigration enforcement is seen as a female thing (long before Goode). Framing the issue as being about “feelings” (which are “female”) to discredit the other side. Men on the protesting side are thus gender-traitors (in addition to “communists”, “terrorists”).

This is also exactly the kind of thing that would go viral in 2019. By the end there’d be so many comments written about these people that it would make headlines. You’d be getting offers on the movie rights to this post.

Since the beginning of this administration, really since the election, they and their base have continually acted like they believe 90% of the country agrees with them. Like they think if just behaving like it will make it so, like this is something you can "fake it till you make it" with.

I just want to hammer into people's heads that the reason we have so much illegal immigration is because we don't offer viable ways for people to immigrate legally for the needs of our economy.
