Trying so Hard, by Daniel F. Walthall: I am trying so very hard, to be the light in your life, to be the love you need, in the fog of the night. but even when I've tried so hard, I lit the beacon too bright, and I'm terrified that maybe, the beacon baited the sharks. that know nothing but to bite. and I can't even sail out to warn you, to help defend you, in the fog of the night. did I bring the light? and then the fog? and the sharks? my ship is in need of repairs, due to my own self-neglect. So I wait in port for the words, "they made it safe", and I'm terrified to hear any other words, in this fog, in this night.

I might cry all day, but it's okay to cry. The alternative for me is to try to bottle it all up, so at least I'll let the tears flow. And of course the tears aren't just for the broken camera, are they?

the tears hold ancient water molecules, have been tears before, and rain, and the sea, on and on

my camera fell and broke.. it was what i used for all my photos and videos, i dont have another one... I've had this for over a decade

I was trying to set it up to record videos to teach painting, and i dropped it .. 😭

A high contrast semi-abstract / surrealist casein painting, of a narrow canyon/valley, from the point of view of being in the canyon, looking toward the horizon. There are seven bright yellow-orange flowers in the canyon, the landscape is highlighted in the same bold color, and there is a low and small crescent moon also in this color. The flowers are huge, more like bushes than typical flowers, and they have no leaves at all (as is the case with almost every flower in my paintings). The sky is dark gray and rust colored, and the darkest shadows in the painting are a very dark reddish purple.

It is mostly a light cool green, but also gray, with some drips of gray paint within the form, and below it. The background is mostly brown and tan, and there is a vertical stripe of dark brown to the right side of the painting, going all the way from the top of the painting to the bottom. Overall the painting is somewhat low contrast, which makes it look more faded and weathered.

A large casein painting, of a strange wavy form of light gray, that has a very animal-like skull shape for a head, but only flowing smoke, webs, and seven rectangular forms for it's "body". There is a light gray crescent moon in the upper left of the painting. The painting is very low saturation overall, much more than perhaps any other painting I've done this year.

I sprinkled some sesame seeds on my sandwich, cause I wanted something different

that got me thinking: "there are a lot of sesame seeds in here, I could plant some and grow some sesame.. plants? trees? groves??"

I never thought about it before, but I have literally no idea what a sesame is

I feel like I've mostly conquered my self-doubt when it comes to drawing and painting

but I feel a ton of of doubt with game design, but I want to make a physical card game / board game so bad!! more than anything, which might be why I'm so worried? I think I'm scared my first game will be awful ??
