Finished reading The Spy Who Came in from the Cold last night. What an excellent, unsettling book, 10/10. Now not sure if I should read any other Carré, or if this is his top book. It was incredible (and written when he wouldn't even had a word processor).

Praise where praise is due. Aspinal of London rock customised gifts + shipping. Have used them twice now for custom made gifts, and they customise and ship products at speed. Lots of other brands take weeks for customisation. Perfect for last minute gifts 🩵

Oh, and there were plenty of trains running on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, across Spain and France. Plenty. Travelled Cadiz-Cordoba on Christmas Eve, Cordoba-Madrid-San Sebastian (= a very large chunk of Spain) on Christmas Day, and San Sebastian - Bordeaux on Boxing Day.

Back home from the Christmas Interrail holiday. Interrail, and Europe, are absolute treasures. 4,000+ km travelled, 3 countries visited. If Europe had a GoFundMe I'd donate 🥲.

Merry Christmas!! I spent part of today visiting Cordoba's "Mosque-Cathedral". It's a church, that became a mosque, that became a church 🤯. It's incredible. The photos are from the same building. #InterrailChristmas

Some more Cadiz interrail holiday happiness. It's a gorgeous place. I've spent most of today staring at the sun, getting Vitamin D going, warming up like a lizard on a hot stone.

Cannot recommend #interrail highly enough. With high speed trains you can travel far, and see so much. Even Tangir would be quite doable from where I got to in Southern Spain. Decided to hold off that one though. There's a beach I need to sit on today. Fomo needs managing a bit 👍

I've gone on a Christmas #Interrail adventure. Zoomed down to Southern Spain. First Sevilla, now Cadiz. Very much enjoying the freedom to go anywhere by train, the warmth of the local weather, the sun.

I'm a bit snowed under, with quite a lot on. I'm wondering whether it's the shortening days and lack of sun that amplifies this feeling (or perhaps I'm genuinely busy?). Unsure how to improve this. Need to focus a bit on nutrition, managed breaks, and being more effective.

Very happy to report back that there wasn't any rain at the parkrun after all. Got in at 31:41, second best time of the year, and best since February 😍. Tried to focus on some faster running in between random markers like bins and lamp posts. #sub30parkrun

What's the worst weather people have run at in a #parkrun? Do you draw the line somewhere? I'm travelling this weekend and the local weather forecast is heavy rain.

Interviewed for a job today that I felt highly unqualified for. Was approached to interview, hadn't even applied. Was about to cancel so as to not waste folks' time. It went OK 😳. If there's one thing that matters: you have to show up. I tell myself this regularly. Showing up > being proper prepared
