Apropos of nothing, and maybe this is just the angle of the shot and I’m seeing things, but man does it not look like he’s lost 20 pounds just in the last few days, particularly in the neck and shoulders and even around his jawline? Maybe I’m just imagining things though…

we were cooked the moment Beamer promoted Mike Shula to OC instead of finding someone with actual talent

There is something to be said, though, for not zero-summing support for the Boys and Girls Club and what might be seen as a rightfully earned moment in the sun for excellence in one’s profession. The point could’ve been made without the subtraction element included. As-is, it’s unnecessarily mean.

Two things can be true. NIMBYism from the white upper class is elitist classism, and “abundance” bros are anti-democratic authoritarians who don’t have any intention of ever instituting progressive housing policy. The enemy of your enemy is, in this case and many others, not actually your friend.

This is me with the whole Far Cry franchise. Really story-rich, open world environment, and every time I play I leave feeling the worst part of the game is the forced first person perspective (if I don’t also feel queasy from motion sickness).

part of what makes the current moment so infuriating is that these people had about 99% of everything they could have ever wanted and found the rules preventing them from acquiring that last 1% so onerous that they’re risking the entire system that created their wealth

I mean, we're in the Cool Zone already in a lot of ways, which is to say that we're going to need to start relying on powers that are almost certainly legal by law and precedent but have not been used in so long that many people may not view them as legitimate.

I worked as a field examiner on asset-based loans in the Tri-State for 3 years. I audited everything from frozen meat, to clothes, electronics, even canoes and kayaks. You’re completely right—most not only have no idea where the shrink is coming from, they’re failing to even track it appropriately.
