Lot of thoughts about That Article, but one thing that made me scream. The cost of childcare was not zero! That our system devalues feminized care labor doesn’t make it actually free. Opportunity costs are a thing, childcare is more expensive because of Baumol, not because it was free before.

It's funny, I just bought a shit ton of RAM earlier this year. Apparently got in right under the wire
I haven't seen anything about this in non-tech media, but it is ASTONISHING how much RAM prices have gone up this year, due to a combination of tariffs and AI servers swallowing supply. This would have cost ~$75 a year ago. Now it's $400. For anybody looking to buy a computer, good luck.
