Death Penalty Alternatives for Arizona
@azdeathpenalty.bsky.social
AZ based statewide non profit organization working to educate the public on issues related to the death penalty and the inequities of the criminal justice system.
We’re grieving—for our friend Aaron Gunches and for the soul of Arizona.

Arizona didn’t need to kill him. No one is safer. This was political theater, not justice.

This fight is bigger than one execution. We refuse cruelty. The fight to end the death penalty in AZ continues.

The death penalty isn’t justice—it’s a distraction. While Arizona focuses on executing Aaron Gunches, real solutions go ignored:

Prevention programs.
Victim support services.
Mental health programs.

We honor the life of President Jimmy Carter, a champion of human rights & justice. He was an outspoken opponent of the death penalty. His legacy reminds us to fight for a justice system rooted in compassion and equality. Rest in peace and power, President Carter.

Interesting that Hobbs can accept the findings from the independent experts in this circumstance but doesn’t find findings from the independent commissioner and retired federal judge she appointed to investigate the lethal injection protocol credible. 🙄
