Though NY is allotting $41 million for local food banks while SNAP is on hold, those who can are asked to donate. Particular items requested are "canned chicken or tuna, peanut butter, pasta, rice, whole grain cereal, canned goods, shelf-stable milk, cooking-oil, flour, & kid friendly snacks."

It's interesting how many times the Insurrection Act has been invoked due to attempts to suppress the rights of people of color (17-18 times) and/or to support the interests of rich business owners (at least 7).
