Wasn't expecting this, but watching the felon king tear down the White House East Wing gave me the same vibes as when I watched the MAGAts storming the capital on January 6th.
America desecrated.

Oct 5-11 is Banned Books Week.
Quote from one of my favorite authors & series, Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas who is one of the most banned authors of the 24-25 school year - 7 books in the top 50, 2 in the top 10

What was the most #bannedbook in U.S. schools in the 2024-25 school year?

Topping the list, after being banned in 23 school districts, is a 1962 novel that Time magazine named one of 100 best books of all time in 2010.

These are the 15 most-banned books in America: pen.org/banned-books...

I had fun posting on my congressional delegation’s shut down posts today. It’s funny how many people told me to go take a civics class or how stupid I am for not understanding Rs don’t have control of the government bc they don’t have a supermajority
Fun to see how many supported the comment too

We’re at peak greed when the president brags about 24k gold décor for the White House while cutting commissaries, healthcare, and social nets. A palace of glitter for him, an empty pantry and hospital bill for you.

Disappointed but

"Authoritarian regimes do not like polling that shows they're unpopular because it emboldens resistance and says, "Oh, there's others out there opposing, I don't have to be totally afraid. Complying in advance is one of the key powers of authoritarian regimes," says @jakemgrumbach.bsky.social.

"The silencing of anyone is a terrible thing in a democracy. Period. Full stop. And yet, the silencing of our comedians, who are often some of our greatest truth tellers, especially sends a very strong signal across the body politic. It's very dangerous,' says @krforde.bsky.social.

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

I DNF’d 1 book this year & wish it was 2. I rarely DNF so it feels like defeat. Both have been highly touted on socials. I waited for months to get them on Libby. And they both were terrible. 😞
On to the next - hopefully better reading ahead

Today’s signs for my small town, red state No Kings protest. Very good turnout and lots of honking drive by support. PD and SO presence was positive supportive. A couple red neck MAGAts tried to be tough but didn’t get to “prove” themselves. Feeling invigorated for the next steps.

I may not have read the books, but i have magically reviewed both Tapper and Comey’s new tell-alls-

They are both hugely self-involved pricks who didn’t do the right things when it mattered, but now think we should be grateful that they were there at the time.

Saved you a read.
