Gretchen Falker-Martin, several people I know who got improperly flagged for saying shit totally unrelated following the Kirk shooting. But I don’t want this to devolve into litigating individual cases because that sidesteps the larger point about how moderation has historically worked.

Android:

Don't give apps your
tracking ID!

One big way your Android phone tracks you is by making up an ID for itself and giving that to advertising companies, which eventually winds up in the hands of investigators. It calls this ID its "advertising ID." In the latest Android versions, you turn off delivery of this by going into the Settings app and navigate to Security & Privacy > Privacy > Ads. Tap "Delete advertising ID."

In older Android versions where that option isn't there you reset it instead, which protects you better if you do it often.

iPhone: Don't give apps your
tracking ID!

One big way your iPhone tracks you is by making up an ID for itself and giving that to advertising companies, which eventually winds up in the hands of investigators. It calls this ID its IDFA, or "ID for advertisers."

Whenever an app asks for this, you can click "Ask App Not to Track" and that app (and the creeps which sweep up information from it) won't be able to follow you! Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking to turn this off for apps you might have already allowed.

You can turn off another tracker by going to Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising and set the "Personalized Ads" switch to "off"

Accept that some ideas that no longer interests you either can wait, be a more simple idea, or just die altogether 😅. I decided that one of my comic ideas would just be an illustrated novel and one I just quit. I'm prioritizing a short comic atm as self-indulgent practice for bigger ones.

I give SHR2 a 8/10 too. It was a pretty decent remake, but the voice acting and model changes were horrible; aside from James, everybody had bobbleheads. And the vanillafication of Maria was also a turn-off (bcuz a woman showing a little midriff is inappropriate ig)

I give Silent Hill F a 8/10. It's a good game, but concept-wise it's pretty cliche. If you played one Asian-based horror game about a high schooler, you've played em all.

And the fact that Fatal Frame R came out the same week made it no better ☠️

Bluesky is consistently censoring Palestinian people. There is a blatant pattern of this and you can't argue it's down to ignorance because they've been directly confronted on it.

Kick up a fuss. Lift the voices of Palestinians. Let Bluesky know that you see this pattern and you won't let it slide.
