My mom surprised me with this memorial necklace, which arrived the evening that marked exactly four weeks since I said goodbye to my baby boy. She said it's so "he can be by [my] heart all the time." I, of course, sobbed upon opening it and again when I read that message from her.

Grief is my constant companion these days. My dry erase calendar is still on October because I can't bring myself to erase Crawford's name from it, even though it's things like "goodbye Crawford 1pm." His litter box and unplugged fountain are still sitting next to my bed. It's been 30 days.
