Users there tend to skew more toward the nerdier side of things, and there's a good number of furries that either use it exclusively or maintain a presence there alongside others (though admittedly fewer than Bluesky). But it's really cromulent imo and supports things that Bsky doesn't like polls!

I'm glad to hear you're open to checking it out, at least! Mastodon (and the Fediverse) is a federated social media platform that predates Bluesky by a few years. It prioritizes true decentralization to ensure that the network is owned by it's users instead of any one central company/organization.

Right now, Loops development is a one-man show spearheaded by dansup, it's creator. Pixelfed, on the other hand, was also created by dansup but there are *many* more devs than just him contributing to the project.
