En route to Stirling for @bacls.bsky.social! I am making some final tweaks to my paper, but, more than anything, am greatly looking forward discussing all things contemporary lit over the next few days.

Please do stop by the SUP stall at the British Association for Contemporary Literary Studies (BACLS) conference @bacls.bsky.social at the University of Stirling.

Our Commissioning Editor, @paulmclarke.bsky.social, will be delighted to talk to you about publishing your next book #OpenAccess! 👋

Moved to to Stirling for the @bacls.bsky.social What Happens Now 2025 Conference. I'm talking about Ken MacLeod on Thursday. Beautiful campus but the only photo I have taken so far is this pint of Robert the Juice.
On platform 12 Edinburgh Waverley station with sun streaming in through roof windows. Board announcing train to Dunblane. Stirling is penultimate station. Pint of Robert the Juice.

A new article by our own Dr Abs S. Ashley has been published in a special issue of Transgender Studies Quarterly ('Toward a Trans[]Crip Theory'): 'Neurotrans Affect: Choreography, Cocreation, and Coalitional Resistance'! @ainokash.bsky.social read.dukeupress.edu/tsq/article-...
The abstract for Dr Ashley's article: 'Many neurodivergent people are also trans, and lived‐experience narratives, creative practices, and research outputs have storied this intersection in powerful and capacious ways. Yet, in the face of increased antitrans hostility across the globe that relies on the mobilization of incoherent pseudologics, neurodivergent and trans persons are mutually imbricated, and in violent ways. This essay invites coalition among trans studies, critical neurodiversity studies, disability justice, and the literary health humanities to consider the effects of these violences and to think through the possibilities of choreographing shared potentials through nonnormative cocreation.'

had a conversation with @melissaschuh.bsky.social years ago about how BACLS (@bacls.bsky.social) sounded like a bakery item and i have finally found out what that is (a sort of profiterole or little choux bun, i think)
a supermarket freezer containing a number of items, including a box of “mini-bakkels”
