I'm having a very interesting week at the Polish/Belarus border learning about the border wall, the suspension of asylum, and the work of activists in the forests. Researchers at the border made this brilliant map which can be used as a tool for teaching on this borderzone mapa.bbng.org/en

25. Seminar on the Border is coming to a close. Our discussion unfolded against the backdrop of the suspension of the right to asylum in PL. Research on the border, discursive militarisation & hidden racism, East–West inequalities, and Europeanisation as violence remains more important than ever.

The idea for the workshop came from both selma banich (Zagreb Solidarity City, Solidarityline Balkans, and For BREAD) and Marijana Hameršak (Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research in Zagreb), to work together on embroidery in memoriam of people who lost their lives on PL-BY border
