Have you ever wondered why physicists are so excited to study the Higgs Boson at a new Higgs Factory collider?

Wonder no more!

I explain what a Higgs factory is, why we need one, and the amazing measurements the machine will make.

Check it out!

This isn't science communication anymore.

It's contrarian and libertarian coded bs reskinned with physics.

It's the usual formula of the influencer.

All this, whilst she remains entirely silent on the real war on science both ideological (insert classic outraged "are we really financing THAT" popular article here) and practical (let's get rid of these unproductive funds/positions)

Had a brilliant time discussing the latest results from the NASA @nasapersevere.extwitter.link rover on Mars.

Did we just find a biosignature and evidence that life once flourished on the red planet?

Mars scientist Henry Manelski breaks down the science!

It's an important continuation of the trend that "all experts are shills and must not be trusted, only populists can be trusted"

Even domains that seem far from public policy are attacked. Because if their experts can be trusted, then maybe there are other experts elsewhere, too.

Streamers are building huge audiences by attacking academic physics as just another corrupt establishment. Scientists are starting to worry about the consequences, writes Dan Kagan-Kans.

Today LHCb presented a new measurement of the decay of a B meson into a K* and a μ+ μ- pair

Previous results disagreed with the Standard Model prediction for the branching fraction and angular distribution

The new measurement has almost twice as much data and still disagrees!

Had the pleasure of chatting with Prof Steve Desch (@deschscoveries.bsky.social) regarding Avi Loeb's latest claims that an interstellar object might be a hostile alien probe.

Spoiler alert: It isn't.

We break down Loeb's weak, cherry picking arguments.

Carbon-14 may be the most important radioisotope ever discovered.

It has revolutionised our understanding of the past, helped demystify bio pathways and confirmed anthropogenic climate change.

Come learn about its incredibly fraught discovery!

My thoughts on the Sean Carroll and Eric Weinstein debate.

Eric's ideas only exist in the worlds of YouTube grievance, culture war nonsense, and the negative space left by the perceived failings of string theory.

tl;dr Eric lost badly.

The legacy of the promotion of the ragbag of unevidenced and often mutually exclusive lab leak theories by a motley crew of lunatics, conspiracists and MAGA proto-Fascists is that that this will all happen again - the same way it did in 2019.
