ah yeah this is why I've spent a lot less time in community spaces in the past few years. mainly so it doesn't mess with my own ways of appreciating art, i don't want to accidentally pick up those tendencies and become less genuine

the best solution is that i just won't have any gradients in my next game. I'm done with gradients forever and therefore will never have to "fix" color banding ever again

a lot of Piecewise's development has seen me diving deep into rabbit holes and learning a bunch, mostly for very small improvements to the game but also very big additions to my skill set

i think it's been super worthwhile overall, but some side quests (like color banding) have not been worth it

imo the fidelity is worth a performance hit in this specific instance
