This story is absolutely gutting. I’m struck by the father who agrees to be interviewed and invites the reporter into the church. Sometimes we act as if the political divide is insurmountable, but everyone wants to be understood.

It took me a minute to figure out that “re-truth” means to share/re-post/retweet in the platform Truth Social. Confusing verb for anyone who doesn’t use the platform (most people).
The President re-truthed a story with a thumnail image of the symbol used by the Nazis to target gay people in concentration camps.

Lots of people dunking on the parents quoted here, but it takes courage to say out loud, to an international audience, “I made a mistake.” It is worth understanding how entrenched beliefs can change.

Never even occurred to me before now that Canada’s 5 living former prime ministers would do anything together, now I’m imagining they hang out all the time. Playing Mario Kart, shooting hoops, regular stuff.
