Balatro is the master of these multi phase maps, I have never seen any cartographer put so much effort into this kind of thing. Each one is a bottle dungeon waiting to happen, an epic set piece to end an adventure.

You enter a dim chamber, the stone door sliding closed behind you, the room is lit by faint glowing runes one each on every stone between here and the exit. On the opposite side of the room an illusion of one of the runes glows over a plinth.

Inspired by the tumbleweed storms that rolled through Texas and Utah, covering absolutely everything. Seemed like a perfect, unexpected freak nature event that would make an encounter for a D&D party to try and deal with, maybe while tussling with some druid foe blowing them around with high winds!

Tsingy de Bemaraha in madagascar is what inspired this map. There are some landscapes in real life that are so unbeliveable that they fit right in with fantasy, yet somehow they usualy arnt in fantasy. 😅

A skeleton with a lute, When the players try to take the lute it animates and asks for help locating its party who were all killed deeper down and like-wise turned into skeletons.
