This is precisely how I feel about Ross Chastain’s “Hail Melon” - absurdly dangerous, unbelievably cool, absolutely not surprised it was immediately permabanned before the next race.
In car cameras with radio and more of Ross Chastain’s amazing final lap pass (Dale Jr reaction)

and also considering that Helen has previously been portrayed on film and television by 🇸🇪Eva Dahlbeck, 🇮🇹Rossana Podestà, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Sienna Guillory, 🇩🇪Diane Kruger and 🇮🇱🇺🇸Bar Paly, so it's not like there's some rich unbroken line of tradition to follow here. Oh wait, what is the one thing they have in common...

“Dry Your Eyes” was one of the few 21st century songs Bob Dylan played on his radio show. [51:20 mark] youtu.be/80UzzE69xxo?...

I don’t think you need a test, nor does the song need to be good to make my point.

I mean sure or “White Christmas” or “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” or “Christmas Don’t Be Late” or “Santa Baby” or “All I Want For Christmas Is You” or “The Christmas Waltz” or “Christmas Wrapping” or “Christmas in Hollis” or “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” or “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”…

This is why I fully embrace the Grinch and Rankin-Bass specials and pop songs with no theological content like “Last Christmas” - there’s a rich cultural heritage to secular Christmas that has been contributed to by people of many faiths and traditions into a new, secular, wonderful holiday.
December 24, 2025 at 5:31 PM
I believe what happened is *Christians bifurcated the holiday themselves* into a religious holiday and a secular holiday on the same day. There are religious texts and trappings, but there are also secular texts (many contributed by us Jews) and trappings that signify the secular Christmas.

While I appreciate your apology & accept it, with all due respect, you went well beyond “snark” - it’s already so hard to persuade people to understand that Jews are not a monolithic community & many of us reject being used as rhetorical pawns, shooting wildly from the hip like that doesn’t help us.

It’s your condescending attitude, Tom. There wouldn’t have been a tenth of the replies you’ve gotten if you weren’t so intent on shouting your displeasure at everyone in the gallery rather than letting people enjoy what they enjoy.

Gentiles who appeal to “talk to Jews” as support for their twisted misunderstanding of antisemitism are a particularly insidious lot, and we absolutely do not need their “help” in any way

There is no inherent superiority to the concept of starting production with every plot point already planned in advance vs. writing your way out of corners as you go. Breaking Bad - which tom also loves - did both at different times, most notably writing S3 as they went. It’s all about execution.

Can confirm, we did this for every opinion as an appellate law clerk.
