I found a style I like for the curse cards in my game!
And it's not even insanely time-intensive :D
This one's the card for "agression", roughly modeled after my chonky cat being threatening, haha^^
I think this'll look good on a card, and I can keep that style up :)

I need to brush up on my art skills again, and doing lil' animations seems a good way to do that^^

Not sure I'll be animating anything in-game as my skills just aren't there yet, but practice is practice :)

So I've got one that I don't know of anyone else who played it: T.O.U. (Tunnels of the Underworld)
Was a blast to play with my brothers^^
Imagine worms, but with lil' spaceships flying around and in real-time with (I think) the possibility of a loooot of players.

Sorry, I should've led with an example^^

Oftentimes my scenes are rather empty, because it can be prototype leveldesigns and I need to keep things simple anyways^^

I wonder if I'm not focusing on details that don't matter, but there's usually not much to describe anyways^^

I can now place custom humans into a level!

These will be bandits (player character is in the middle), but I'll use the same system for friendly NPCs.

Fuck it, I'm fixing this shit tonight.
This is just me debugging, but it shows the problem: When I combine my base sprite with weapons and armor, it still gets the skin color of the human. In this case blue, because it's easier to see.

Working on Armors!
Pants are optional, hehe^^
This will also form the basis for most NPCs, since I can mix and match these armors a lot, and all of them have various materials they can be made of :)

Okay, so outdoor/indoor does make a difference, but sometimes not the way people think;
My beautiful son, Mojito is cuddly and sweet indside,e the house but outside he'll just run away most of the time (if one can sneak up to him, he'll enjoy some pets)

For ideas and notes I use an android app named "orgro", but honestly any text editor that can save to a folder on my phone would do.
That folder is synced to a ftp server every hour, so I can restore stuff in the future (because I lost all my notes with my phone breaking before)

So this one's a lil' fucked up, but the italians have this A LOT:
A plate rack where you place your plates to dry - in a cabinet without floor, right over your sink.
This is in a hotel apt, so it's not terribly well-kept, but still I like the principle.
Maybe not possible in more humid places?

Working on the system that lets me layer armor on top of my characters and made some foliage - I've yet to make things pretty, since currently it looks half like a grey blob, and half like a block of cheese^^

I think we may need more of what @rpanich.bsky.social did recently - just showcasing our worst code, so people know that it _can_ happen. The world is not a frictionless vacuum and code can get messy.

Happy little accidents:
I had a shader that burned up the curse card from the inside out, making it vanish.
But I switched to using the shader directly in a buffer, where the discard directive doesn't delete old pixels, so I ended up with an ashen card :D
Keeping that!

The process for two of the Curse cards for #cursed_existence - I might have to hire someone to draw me the final version of the cards, once I know what all (or most) of them will be^^
Until then I can hone my own skills a little, at least I'll improve a bit along the way :)
