You know all those budget lines that the Republicans zeroed out in the CR? It only took a couple of hours for Trump to issue orders shutting down those organizations like the Interagency Council on Homelessness that coordinates the whole of government approach to our homeless. Nice job, Schumer!

The FBI has a core mission to stop terrorism.

When we talk about Trump's desire to use the FBI to go after people like Liz Cheney, we should also talk about what that means the FBI will NOT be doing instead.

Exactly this. The point of the FBI Director having a ten-year term was so that it would cut across presidential terms. "Trump announces FBI pick" is not a normal thing.
This is what has me so crazy about Kash Patel. Everyone has jumped right to the merits of Patel and no one has even paused to say, “Presidents don’t get to fire the FBI director without paying a huge political price.”
There seems to be a vast under-appreciation for the lines we’ve crossed and the world we’re in.

Trump’s win has basically put us in a post-rules world.

People in power don’t feel constrained by rules and any remaining checks don’t feel empowered to be checks.

This reality has not set in yet.

Putin is a coward, he doesn’t have the guts to take on the U.S. and NATO, his military is nearly decimated, his economy is collapsing and he only attacks innocent civilians like the war criminal he is.

@theglobeandmail.com then why are you here? I’m personally not from the left, I’m a lifelong conservative (fmr) Republican, 30+ year campaign op, and never Trump from the jump. Why should I let Musk feed me a steady mix of far-right BS and Russian bots to make him more money?
Opinion - The problem with Bluesky: It won’t broaden our horizons: In the wake of Donald Trump’s election win, the social-media platform has enjoyed a surge of new users looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s X. But will it be useful, if it just creates an echo chamber for the left?

“Gaetz is gone, but the next nominee will be bad too,” probably, but you still need to build on and rally people around wins, too. Treating every development like a prelude to another loss is how you fall into the pattern of being a loser.

Greene still hasn’t read the Constitution, still doesn’t understand that Congress is the superior institution and serves a very important role of checks and balances to the executive branch.
MTG: “Whoever he nominates and appoints, you better pass them through the Senate. That is your job. You say ‘yes sir,’ and you get it done."
