🚀 Meet the @barakhirshberg.bsky.social Lab
From enhanced sampling in molecular dynamics to bridging physics & ML, they’re redefining how we study complex systems.

🔬 Curious how stochastic resetting speeds up protein folding or even AI training?

What an unexpected and pleasant surprise is receiving the Israel Chemical Society Excellent Young Scientist Prize. Thank you!
Would have never happened without my amazing students and incredible department and colleagues.
@biosofttau.bsky.social
Congrats also to Graham!

It took us almost a year, but it is finally out in @natcomms.nature.com , a paper I am SO SO proud of by Tommer Keidar, Ofir Blumer, myself, and Shlomi Reuveni.

"Adaptive resetting for informed search strategies and the design of non-equilibrium steady-states"

Very few things make me prouder than having Jacob and @yotamfe.bsky.social's paper published today in JCP in the special issue honoring one of my personal heroes, Abraham Nitzan.

Abe is a giant of theoretical chemistry (in Israel and globally) and an inspiration to us all.

Periodic boundary conditions for bosonic path integral molecular dynamics
We develop an algorithm for bosonic path integral molecular dynamics (PIMD) simulations with periodic boundary conditions (PBC) that scales quadratically with t

Had a great time talking with Martin about the various astonishments I've experienced while thinking hard on invariant inference and finding myself studying learning theory. Also: SAT solving for metamaterials w/ @yairshokef.bsky.social, and the joys of feeling stupid. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Also visiting us this month as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of the Institute of Advanced Studies of Tel Aviv University is Joel Eaves from CU Boulder He gave a great talk on why singlet fission molecules are promising candidates for quantum computing applications! 🤴

Dinner time with our visiting professors, Dvira and Joel, and my colleague, Guy Cohen. We took a stroll along the Yarkon river, and then had some great fish and seafood at the Tel Aviv port. It was great! 😋 Just in time for a beautiful sunset too!

Honestly, we were so happy with the review process. It was fast, fair, and really helped us improve the paper. They encouraged us to show that the quasi steady state hypothesis is relevant also to regression, and other models and datasets. Feels like we found the right spot for this sort of work!

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Stochastic resetting for enhanced sampling.
Check out our preprint reviewing our work on accelerating molecular dynamics through restarts and inferring unbiased kinetics.
