In one of her first public actions as the newly elected Uachtarán na hÉireann (president of Ireland) Catherine Connolly has written a public letter of solidarity on Trans Remembrance Day. It is a very promising start.

The lovers have settled down.

(Both belong to our neighbours and don’t actually live here)

Advent calendar completed and filled with chocolate balls wrapped to look like Brussel sprouts and Christmas puddings.
Household is ready for the countdown to the big day.

Been doing a little crafting. Decided to make the household an adult advent calendar that can be filled with chocolate.

Will be attaching the numbers on each drawer soon and filling with treats. But so far so good

Off to ‘interview’ a second person in the space of a week.

Hopefully we will be able to appoint this person as well.

(Things I never realised I would be doing in my job)

Today’s job was consolidate two houses into one. A rather tight squeeze but job done.

Chippy tea to recover with.

Tomorrow we start finding homes for everything - wish us luck

Spending the day moving stuff from one end of the country to the other. Hurrah for professional removers who are fitter than I am.

Keir Starmer's aides are reportedly telling him not to go to the COP30 climate conference, because Reform would attack him for it.
Yes, they might.
And he should wear it as a badge of honour.
Standing up for humanity, for science and a habitable planet.
Where's the hazard in that?

Ok. They’ve pissed me off.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

Thousands of Londoners have indefinite leave to remain.

They have legal rights and are our friends, neighbours and colleagues, contributing hugely to our city.

Threatening to deport people living and working here legally is unacceptable.

"Before Brexit we didn't have a small boats problem because we had 27 return agreements with EU countries and we could return people"

-Maybe we should call them Farage's Brexit Boats

For 56 minutes Sky News and BBC News interrupted everything else and carried a Reform UK feed live, uninterrupted, unchallenged. The stream spluttered, froze, pixelated - dozens of times - still they stuck with it. FOR ONE HOUR.

This is an editorial choice. No other party gets this coverage. ~AA

Nigel Farage:

"Children who have two stable parents have a better chance in life... The most stable relationships, the ones that last the longest, tend to be between men & women... There's an awful lot of kids in the country not getting the kind of start... they deserve."

Yesterday’s completed project: re-lining a poncho with shot silk rather than a heavy cotton. The cotton had a habit of sticking to the clothes underneath making it uncomfortable to wear.

We put the heating on a couple of days ago, setting it to come on only when it gets below 17c.

I turned it up today and have brought out the heated blanket. I can’t believe how soft I’ve got.

If you have spare time today and want to spend it (mentally) travelling from the very north east of Europe to as far south west via public transport in one go (with lots of whimsy thrown in) then try #schengen200 with @politicanimal.bsky.social

Fun with lots of photos and an interrail pass.
