He was brilliant at these off the cuff responses. His demolition of Farage in the European Parliament is another great example of angry Blair.

But Starmer is different and more cautious. Unlike Johnson, Badenoch and Truss at least he is coherent and honest.

Seems fair.

Nail on head. All the excited talk about Customs Union and Single Market is pointless unless Labour stop demonising all migrants and start to detoxify the term Freedom of Movement. Without embracing FoM again, nothing substantial will be possible.

Theresa May's horrible Grima Wormtongue. Probably the architect of the Lancaster House speech, and her pledge to "eradicate freedom of movement once and for all".

You may well be right, that's why I said 'apparently'. Starmer on the other hand does seem to think they are Green Party policies, although he wasn't quoted as saying they wanted to leave NATO, but that they were anti-NATO

(For what it's worth I think NATO is pretty irrelevant since Tr*mp arrived.)
December 7, 2025 at 7:55 PM
He called two of their (apparent) policies "nuts", and he called them "dangerous", but it's not clear if he meant the party or the two policies.
December 7, 2025 at 6:17 PM
The Canary misrepresented the quote.

Starmer highlighted two apparent Green Party policies which he said were 'nuts. They were:

Being anti-NATO at a time when the world was in turmoil, and
Allowing drugs to be sold freely e.g. outside schools.

I think this lost something in the translation. Surely the Kremlin actually said "..... largely consistent with our instructions."

This is exactly why Musk is lashing out today calling for the end of the EU.

Divide and rule..... whether it's Musk, Putin, Xi, or Tr*mp they hate the fact that they can't pick on individual small nations and bully them into submission.

Fabulous interview with Mani. He was buzzing with enthusiasm and you both gave him lots of space to talk uninterrupted. Obviously timely, given events. Thanks.

It's true that politicians from Thatcher to Cameron used the EU as a punchbag to gain populist votes, even whilst wanting to stay in it. Even Gordon Brown snuck in late to sign the Lisbon treaty so as not to offend the Mail. That has to change if ever the UK is allowed back.
December 6, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Done. Thanks, it is quite hard to know when a 'cause' is worthy and genuine but you will have done the hard work to ensure this one is.

Finally, now we'll get the low down ;)

Divide and rule
December 6, 2025 at 3:53 PM
The 705 members of the European Parliament are elected by the people of 27 nations, and guess what.... the districts they serve are NOT gerrymandered to allow one party to gain an advantage and exclude a section of society from representation. The US should try it sometime.

That's what his friend Lukashenko should be asking. Belarus is just up the road if there's a radiation leak.

I would gently point out that Ringo was Ringo before he joined the Beatles.

Yes it's been a rapid decline since winning the Euros with Chielini. My team are currently at the top of Serie C which is fun. The Serie C play-offs are like trying to escape from Dante's inferno though - about 16 teams and utterly complicated rules! Got to avoid that again, it's far too stressful!
December 6, 2025 at 9:23 AM
This is important. It may be Tr*mp today, but he not the main problem. He didn't walk into the White House unaided. The American electorate are now so unserious, and their institutions irreparably corrupted, that they cannot be trusted with the security of the so-called "free world".

The actual award used to be called the Jules Rimet trophy after the leader of the French Football Federation who arranged the first World Cup in 1930? It's not hard to imagine what Infantino will do next to suck up to the moron.

Do you remember when the actual award used to be called the Jules Rimet trophy? It's not hard to imagine what Infantino will do next to suck up to the moron.

It's not easy having to choose between the drunken ravings of an alcoholic and the possibility that perhaps, for once, he had a moment of lucidity. There is nothing 'normal' about Tr*mp's America.

"NORAD has moved to defcon 4 shall we wake him up?"

"Are you insane? I'm not having ketchup all over this 2000 dollar suit"
December 5, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Not only 20 year old herbs, It's more disturbing that you may be putting ketchup in it ;)
