The Yoruba have Afenifere.

What groups do we have as various ethnic groups to promote our culture and traditions, especially in these days of growing westernisation?

I wonder: is there any academic who has done any research on the relationship between car stickers and class signaling in Ghana?

I find it fascinating how Maoist suits popularised in Ghana by socialist President Kwame Nkrumah are being worn by hardcore capitalists in modern day Ghana.

Fashion is indeed above all politics.

Chiefs/royal families have remodeled themselves as agents of development for their areas often ignored by the powers that be. They are also unofficial CSOs - offering sagacious criticisms when necessary.

These roles must be fulfilled perfectly if the institution is to keep going strong.

Something happened today that’s made things somewhat clearer.

We keep trudging on!
Life can get quite confusing and overwhelming, especially in your youth. So many decisions, plans to make etc.

I find that prayer has become a source of unloading, for lack of a better word. A younger me definitely did not see this coming!

Let’s see where this goes.

I have often wondered why Greek mythology has quite the hold on a lot of people.

Is it because of its portrayal in popular media? What leads people to explore it?

The excitement surrounding Yvonne Nelson’s memoir has me wondering what the after effects will be on the Ghanaian literary space.

Will this excitement extend to the work of indigenous authors?

I was wondering what was happening with district-level elections which is supposed to happen this year and stumbled on this article.

I concur heavily with it. We need to up the discourse on these elections also.

Pro-poor policy and pro-business policy are not at odds with each other.

Quite the opposite in fact!

I saw this and I think to myself: how can people in these times “shake the system”?

New media has made it easier. Now, we can send out articles via Medium, Substack etc. This is in addition to micro blogging platforms like Twitter, Facebook etc.

Kwesi Brew represents the ideal I aspire to as a writer - an individual very much involved in public life via diplomacy, business and politics whiles churning out the best works.

The idea of being a writer ONLY is a scary one.
