A small but significant step: Dutch national broadcaster NOS is leaving X.

“The volume of hateful comments and disinformation on X is enormous and flows freely. This also applies under our own posts, meaning we unintentionally contribute to their spread”

Maybe he should come back, after all.
Can't see anyone else who can empower ppl as good as he can.
Obama: "The weird videos of a US president with a crown on his head flying a fighter jet & dumping poop on American citizens - that's not even worth booing about. Because all of that is a distraction from the fact that your situation, your life has not gotten better. They do it so you won't notice"

Yay. Priceless. The right column at the right time. And a gleefully English two fingers to the haters.

When the far right invents or exaggerates bad behaviour by their foes - see ‘cancel culture’; threats to free speech; anti-fascist violence; financial corruption; cronyism etc - they do so to preemptively excuse their own far worse & blatant abuses in exactly the same spaces.

The reality is, Britain economically benefits from immigration and illegal migration is too small to impact most. The communities that blame immigration for decline are actually suffering the effects of 15 yrs of Tory austerity, under-investment in public infrastructure and the reality of Brexit.

Put up "no ball games" signs.

This is what was missing behind 2020's closed doors. This is what's killed by different kick-off times.

I wish you could bottle Saturday's shared experience. A crackle of goals elsewhere. A surge of optimism. A sense of opportunity knocking.

So unnecessarily stressful. A pivotal day. #lufc

John, the blind Leeds United fan from yesterday's story, didn't bring it up but it came to my attention that he and his wife (also blind) have had a no fault eviction notice. Fundraising has begun. It'd be amazing if Leeds fans went big on this

Start with any episode! Jump around! Pick one about something you're into. Find one about something you're not
