Which is ultimately the worry, and exactly why he has come out with what he's said post match. And for what it's worth, it's hard to disagree with him! Back him in the summer and he might have signed a new deal by now- instead they'll now wonder if it's worth it if he's not sticking around.

Absolutely. Although he seems such a stickler for only using those he trusts that I'm not convinced players like Uche, Esse, Cardines etc would have got decent minutes even if circumstances allowed.
