Marcelino and Al-Fatly et al. report literature-based lesion network mapping of dyskinetic cerebral palsy. Grey matter lesions are the most common MRI finding; the motor thalamus is a converging node of a wide functional network. Read at buff.ly/IyRv0E0.

Tremor is a common symptom across many neurological disorders.

But is there a shared tremor circuit across disorders - one that could guide treatment, regardless of diagnosis?

We think: yes.

Our study is out now in @natcomms.nature.com:

🚨Interested in Dystonia?🚨
@braincircuits.bsky.social

GPi DBS for dystonia is effective.

More recently, STN DBS has been investigated, as an alternative.

In what enfolded like a stunning thriller to me, Konstantin Butenko tells a tale of two networks…

Do we need to stimulate different circuits to improve different dystonia symptoms with STN DBS? Work by Konstantin Butenko, @andreashorn.org @braincircuits.bsky.social out today in @PNAS says yes:

Is it critical to stimulate @ndosenbach.bsky.social's SCAN and CON networks for clinical improvements of Tourette's patients that undergo DBS?

Carlos Baldermann says yes in a cool new paper out in @natureportfolio.bsky.social comms today!

Do you know the actual tic networks in Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome? Juan Carlos Baldermann and a whole host of colleagues explore this in a new article in Nature Communications. Dosenbach and Gordon sparked this group to action after the DBSThinkTank.

Lesions in the tremor circuit can induce tremor (1st img), similar lesions can treat an "existing" tremor (2nd img) -In this case, DBS/lesioning surgery require a pre-existing pathological oscillation to work, can DBS still enhance functionality in normal brain?
