Die OECD-Leitsätze legen eindeutig Sorgfaltspflichten für multinationale Unternehmen fest. Dazu gehört auch, dass sie nicht zu negativen Auswirkungen auf das Recht auf Gesundheit, Nahrung, Land und eine gesunde Umwelt beitragen.

Der Vorwurf: Bayers Pestizid- und Sojageschäft soll mit extremer Abholzung, gravierenden Gesundheitsauswirkungen, Wasserverschmutzung, Biodiversitätsverlust, und Landrechtskonflikten in Argentinien, Brasilien, Paraguay und Bolivien in Verbindung stehen.

Ein Jahr nach der OECD-Beschwerde gegen Bayer wegen Menschenrechtsverletzungen und Umweltschäden in Südamerika warten Betroffene noch immer auf eine Antwort. Die Beschwerde soll zu einer Mediation mit Bayer führen, um weitere Verstöße gegen die OECD-Richtlinien zu verhindern.
