I was somewhat terrified to take this course at first, however, I have learned so much! Having the privilege of reading/hearing everyone’s thoughts/opinions has been amazing!
I thank all of you for insight/everything!

Seeing some of my friends’ names on this wall was pretty cool. I’m proud of what they were able to create/accomplish.

I do not know why I was standing like that so we are going to ignore it as of now. Moving on, this mirror is so intricate and honestly kind of reminds me of The Upside Down from Stranger Things. It’s a piece that I find both uncomfortable to view but I also love it.

To the left of the entrance at the Shwayder Art building, there is a multitude of free slides for guests to take with them. These are some of my favorites!

I’m currently reading a book titled “Aesthetics of Discomfort.” In one section, Frederick Aldama talks about how there are many different contemporary buildings around the world that may cause discomfort. For example, the Kunsthaus Graz art museum in Austria was mentioned.

I loved this so much (even if it looks like something you’d see in a fancy restaurant or concert venue bathroom.

This made me feel like we were attending the Met Gala or something.

I took a picture of this building while on the way to the museum in order to ask what you consider art to be. I was surprised to see it as part of the exhibit today.

I decided to replay ‘The Ghost of Tsushima’ once more on a different account in order to view the digital art. Even a beginner’s gear can be so intricate and mesmerizing. Detail is incredibly important to me and I appreciate the importance. I feel as if the artist feels so as well.

This is my grandmother’s website. Dale Fairbanks. She is an amazing abstract narrative artist. She inspires me every day.

I like the use of symmetry when it comes to the way these pieces were placed. The lighting and placement really enhance them in the best way.

Nadiya Jackson is an artist who has experimented with watercolor, collaging, writing, and dancing. “I wish I was a tree.” Honestly, me too.

I appreciated these butterflies on the wall in the stairway. Whether it’s the shadows, the cluster in the middle, or the butterflies themselves. Better than having just a plain white wall in my opinion.

A few of my peers and I discussed how the tassels on this piece could potentially represent a gravitational pull. I love this piece.

One of the first pieces I was able to see/one of the first that I kept my eyes on.

Trust. This piece seems to be falling off of the wall. Not sure if this was on purpose, but doesn’t seem too trustworthy. Maybe I understood it wrong, maybe it’s a sign.

“The aesthetics of the future are not mysterious. They exist along a blurry border between reality and fantasy, and will disappear over the horizon just as life will.” This is one of the quotes that resonated with me from our book.

As someone that likes to work with graphite, and is trying their best, I appreciated this piece. “A reclamation by nature.”

This exhibit was incredible and probably one of my favorites ever. Artist: Ken Gun Min. Oil, Korean pigment, silk embroidery thread, beads, and crystals on canvas. I think these are all stunning.

Artist: Gala Porras-Kim. I appreciate how the colors and shading change, along with the materials used. The first two were created with graphite, and the last with colored pencil.

Another example of artwork that makes me uncomfortable… Not too fond of mold cultures…

Tom Masse is another artist whose works I enjoy. Just wanted to put that out there. I have a few prints of his art in my apartment, which I love. While viewing each, you see something new every time.

Some of some my other favorites from when I visited the RiNo District a couple years ago for the first time. The location (whether it’s behind a dumpster or not) and what’s able to be created is amazing in my opinion.
