I don't think Israel would deny that it's at war with Iran. The denial here seems to be from many people who ignore that it's Iran that has been on a one-sided crusade to annihilate Israel, developing the means, and deliberately attacking Israel through proxies to then claim to be the victim.
Iran is of course free to characterize the strike by Israel however it choses, but military strikes of this magnitude, particularly including decapitation strikes against political and military leaders, do indeed constitute casus belli under traditional law of armed conflict analysis.

I don't think Israel would deny that it's at war with Iran. The denial here seems to be from many people who ignore that it's Iran that has been on a one-sided crusade to annihilate Israel, developing the means, and deliberately attacking Israel through proxies to then claim to be the victim.
The problem here is not that Trump "threat" (which is not genocidal), but that the term genocide has been so cheapened lately that almost any utterance made by someone they oppose is now deemed to be a threat of genocide by many scholars, politicians, human rights officials, and commentators.
If another world leader had threatened, in the middle of a bombing campaign, that a government "must make a deal, before there is nothing left" -- both scholars and the U.S. government would have labeled it a threat of genocide.
