I have no desire to get involved in the Stranger Things discourse, the majority of which is still very misguided, but I do just want to call out that this scene is exquisitely good, and might be my favorite of the whole series. Well written, well acted, with so many layers.

Oh no, we can't loose the strict adherence to traditional ideas of gender and sexuality that the Looney Tunes cartoons were so famous for.

It is not a "longstanding principle." It is an explicitly stated Constitutional right. You're supposed to be a respectable news outlet so maybe quit fucking lying in service of fascism. bsky.app/profile/npr....

It’s very possible to agree that Netflix buying WB is a bad thing, while at the same time thinking it’s better than the alternative of Ellison/Paramount buying it, for a litany of reasons.

Overall, I thought there was a lot more to like in the first four episodes of Stranger Things 5 than not. The two big “twists” in the last episode were “predictable” but in a “make total sense way.” Not a fan of this three part release schedule.

Finished up the Stranger Things 4 rewatch. So much of the discourse around this show is about fandom culture or the effect of streaming on TV or the actors aging and etc. that I do think it’s almost lost just how strong a show it is the vast, vast majority of the time.

People do understand that the “Epstein Files” that are going to be released are only going to have the names the admin wants released on them right? Like, I’m not sure how anyone can be naive enough to think otherwise.

The MVP discourse is as mind-numbingly dumb as I would have anticipated.
November 14, 2025 at 2:58 AM
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely want the full real Epstein Files released ASAP. But, like many other things over the last decade, why people are still clinging to the idea that this “will finally be the thing that makes the cult see the light”? There’s NOTHING that will do that.

From the literal game standpoint, baseball is the best sport there is, bar none. It’s a real shame the owners are going to try and kill it after the 2026 season.

Bon Jovi’s duets take on Forever isn’t a trainwreck, but it’s completely inessential. There are 2, maybe 3 songs here that merited release, and the rest is just kind of there.

I have so many thoughts about a band that really probably doesn’t deserve that much brain power at this point…
August 27, 2025 at 7:20 AM
Not that I really thought this was the case, but #MCRPhilly verified that the Jersey show wasn’t hometown bias or rose-colored glasses. This is a band operating at the highest level they ever have and saying something that matters as much as art can matter.

Is there a more me-coded sentence than “My Chemical Romance closed their New Jersey homecoming show with a full cover of Bon Jovi’s “Livin on a Prayer”? (End cuts of for BlueSky limitation reasons, but you get the idea)

I’m genuinely surprised at the amount of people that thought “WWE was better than this.” At no point in their history has anything about them as a company in any way indicated they’re at all “better than this.”

I’m amazed that people are continually shocked when textbook examples of fascism like the Smithsonian thing happen. Where have you been for 7 months? (and really where have you been for a decade, and really really where have you been for 250 years?) The pretense has been gone for a long time.
