Regret to share that I’m suspending my campaign for Park Board in order to prioritize my health, my full-time job, and other prior commitments.

I greatly appreciate the guidance and support that I received from so many of you over the past 3 months!

I guess you also get to decide whether the show is worth more than $450 to you!

I feel like I’ve been hearing about them everywhere, yet they still only have 1.2m monthly listeners on Spotify. My consolation prize is that i got to go to their album release party at Electrical Fetus.

Bummer they can’t upgrade the venue for Geese on the 18th. Lowest resale ticket is $473 right now.

Making a list of Minneapolis parks where I’ve seen the bike parking completely full:
1) The Trailhead at Theo Wirth
2) Lake Nokomis west beach
3) multiple beaches at Cedar Lake

What else should I add to my list??

Got to join local running legends Courtney Dauwalter and Carrie Tollefson for a shakeout trail run + podcast interview at Theo Wirth last night!

Courtney is possibly the best female ultramarathon runner ever, and is stepping outside her comfort zone to try the Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday!

Definitely get the track racing appeal. I feel like part of what makes TCM special is the beautiful scenery, which wouldn’t really be visible at night.

Maybe climate change will make night races more common?

So.. most of it in the dark?

Though Laura’s ahead of my on 24th street! Only noticed that progress last night on my way to the Bonesaw ride

It used to be rare to have other bike riders waiting at a red light with me downtown, but I feel like I’ve been seeing it a lot more often.

Maybe something to do with in-office mandates? In any case, I enjoy having active-transportation buddies.

When I biked through a few weeks ago, they had finally started to build the required safety structure under the railroad, but it still needed a roof. Not sure what’s to blame

Have had to bike through clouds of paint dust and showers of paint chips a few times in the bike lane on 3rd.

This is one of my favorite times of year because a ton of bike infrastructure projects are wrapping up. 10 of the 32 Twin cities projects I’m tracking for 2025 are now ready to ride!

My tracker spreadsheet is now up-to-date! Great for brainstorming Autumn rides 🍁

Deleted original post and made an updated one because the building still exists!!

Munsingwear was once the largest employer of women in the state. According to @vincempls.bsky.social they made all of the underwear for the Allies in WWI. You might know their building as International Market Square, on Glenwood along 94.

Found this pristine 70’s polo (in my size) for $9 at a local thrift store.

Minneapolis-based Munsingwear introduced the extremely popular Original Penguin golf shirt in 1955 for $5 — equivalent to $60 today.

New section of Minnesota River Greenway is now rideable gravel! (Just don’t go there during weekday construction.)

If you don’t want to bike all the way down there, the Blue Line or Orange Line can get you much closer to the trailhead :)

The new multi-use path along the north side of Lowry Ave NE is now open from Central to Johnson! (This was Phase 2; Phase 1 from Washington to Central was completed last year.)

Just did a 2-week Norway road trip in an EV! Their cities and roads are noticeably quieter, charging infrastructure is everywhere and relatively cheap.. it’s just a normal part of life!
janrosenow.bsky.social
It's absolutely astonishing: In just about 13 years, Norway has skyrocketed from virtually no sales of zero-emission battery electric vehicles to nearly 100% of all new passenger car purchases.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our final East Bank Bike Tour of the year.

Shout outs to @kub.bsky.social + @beacon.bsky.social for making sure our riders kept moving, and @vthorstenson.bsky.social for all pics along the way.

Anyone who wants to improve or expand next year, let us know!

Are you talking about the “Mathematically eliminated by the sum of all ranked-choice votes comparison” possibility? Yeah, I guess if, say, Fateh 1st-choice votes exceed the sum of all ballots that rank Frey, plus ballots that rank Jazz exceed Fateh 1st-choice votes.
beacon.bsky.social
Because Frey will have 30-45% of the first-choice votes, the only real way that could happen is if Jazz wins the whole thing. (Doesn’t matter how many ballots Jazz is on if he’s ranked behind other people who aren’t eliminated.)

There’s a woman named Francis who lives there, and she will give you a glass of lemonade.
beacon.bsky.social
Ready for a Tour de Francis, where you would bike back and forth between the two Francis Burger Joint locations in Minneapolis, eating a burger or chicken sandwich at each stop.

I have no idea. I don’t recognize the skyline

Am I the only one who wishes there was a “neither” option?
Survey question showing two simple square logos for Dinkytown. Text says “which of the following two designs is your favorite?”

At least 5 intersections fully flooded on the west side of the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood this morning.

City workers wading through the water to remove manhole covers for faster drainage.
