I think historical revisionism in the name of an enjoyable time for the table is polite, to say the least. Though it is probably a good thing to acknowledge that's what is being done, because you will eventually run across someone who just didn't know about the thing you're omitting.

I'm trying to bring the weekend edition back to my news feed. I want to be aware of what is happening on my community and the world, but at a cadence I can sustain.

Is Takes of the Valiant a new book?

I vote for just the core book. Something legally distinct from Fringe.

I will never ever stop sharing the Michael Biehn with an adorable little girl dressed as Ripley.
Ever!

I can't place my finger on why, but original green haired one looks more "real". The revised version isn't a bad job by any stretch, but my head is saying the original was hand drawn.

The others look great!

The boat talk is spot on. I liked that they didn't try to wedge explains of nautical terms into the script.

I'll admit that I've never read the Dark Sun core books, but the various supplements I've found over the years don't hold a candle to Shattered Lands.
The 4e take was the caffeine free diet coke of the setting. Glad it exists but it didn't really scratch the itch.

I highly recommend Dark Sun: Shattered Lands.

My two cents is to play Trinity before the others. It's the base game, gets you familiar with most of the moving parts.
Also it got me rewatching Fringe.

So the next question: How many trips to the hardware store did it end up taking?

Five sixths of the list are made up by three of the items. Feels like this should have been a pie chart.
Just saying that outrage with specific direction doesn't tend to accomplish much.
