It wouldn't surprise me - when I got my New Beetle I tried to imagine as many Beetle-y things as possible from it.
And I was sure they'd tuned the 1.6SR ignition to sound vaguely air-cooled Beetle. Didn't sound like a 1.6 Golf.

The distinction matters in a small way - if people were able to collectively stop using X, Meta and TilTok we'd still have government and choices, but the influencers and influences would be less effective.
What's weird is the reluctance to give them up even when they're really crap experiences.

When someone stole the keys for our Jeep Cherokee in the 90s this is how I rigged it along with the seat furthest back and a tape of Isao Tomita's version of the planets where it gets very chaotic and the volume all the way up and the volume knob taken off the radio

It feels more like a media-controlled government, in some ways - without the work of Bannon etc. and these platforms would Trump ever have been elected or Brexit/Reform have been anything other than single-issue fringe lobbyists?

It's the same vibe as the "all gay men are pederasts" and nudging the discourse towards "exclude gay people from toilets they're a threat" which some people might remember was actually a legal position not very long ago.
(And I suspect this is why you see so many gay men making GC comments on FB)
