Yesterday “Toof Jr” found a forever home with Spencer, and was named for their D&D character! 😊 There’s only one dragon left from my original clutch, but I’ve got some eggs that I’m pretty sure are close to hatching! 😉

Today for WiP Wednesday, I decided to show some of the process of making those Dragonscale chain cuffs. Like many weaves, Dragonscale is most difficult at the beginning, where you’re trying to keep a bunch of loose rings straight.

My work table with several sets of mailing pliers, loose rings, and a barely started piece of chainmail (also my drink, the fabric pouch I keep my pliers in, and a chip clip). The chainmail is the beginning of a cuff in the Dragonscale weave, and shows that at this early stage, the rings are loose and dangly, making them difficult to work with, as they tend to flop around when you pick up the piece to add to it. A picture of the same table as before, showing mailing pliers, loose rings and a chainmail cuff in the early stages, with the chainmail piece slight more complete than the previous picture. The Dragonscale weave is starting to hold its shape a bit better, but many rings are still quite loose and dangly, making them difficult to add to.

I like playing with keychains, making flags and simple fun references. The Canada Flag and Pokeball are two popular ones (who’s surprised 😆), so I’ve made some replacements, but I really need to just have a bunch on standby.

The Celtic Visions bracelets have been very popular! I sold out of all but my larger one at the last show, so I made these replacements. I feel like I’m gonna be doing a lot of these. Good thing they’re fun and use ring sizes that I have loads of!

More Dragonscale cuffs! I really like this design, and want to make more! The silver/blue one (which I’ve been calling “Frost Deagon”) has already sold! My next one is going to experiment with more colours, hopefully in a sort of gradient.

I really like these double-sided cuffs! This is the second one I’ve made from the Japanese 12-in-2 weave, and they’re pretty cool! I played a little more with colours this time, and I think it turned out well.
